Meet Tatul Hakobyan in Montreal and Toronto: May 10, 12, and 14

In the evening of May 10, 2017, Armenian author and reporter Tatul Hakobyan will deliver lecture on Armenia-Turkey relations in Montreal, Canada.

The event will take place in AGBU Alex Manoogian center at 8 o’clock in the evening. The lecture and Q&A session will be followed by a presentation of Hakobyan’s two books – “Karabakh Diary: Green and Black”, and “Armenians and Turks”. The volumes will be available in English as well as in Western Armenian with classical orthography.

Tatul Hakobyan is visiting Canada from May 7 to 15 by AGBU Montreal branch invitation.

In the evening of May 12, 2017, Tatul Hakobyan will deliver lecture on Karabakh peace process in AGBU Alex Manoogian school center (AGBU – École Alex Manoogian de Montréal). 

From Montreal Hakobyan will travel to Toronto.

On Sunday, May 14, at 14 P. M. Hakobyan will deliver lecture on Armenian-Turkish relations, NK peace process and Armenia’s foreign policy in Toronto. The lecture and Q&A session will be followed by a presentation of Hakobyan’s two books.

The event, organized by “Armenian Association of Toronto”, will take place in AGBU’s Center.

Hakobyan graduated from the Department of Journalism in Yerevan State University, and Georgian Institute of Public Affairs in Tbilisi. Hakobyan has formerly worked as a correspondent for the newspapers Ankakhutyun (1991-1995) Yerkir (1998-2000), Azg (2000-2005), Aztag (2005-2016), The Armenian Reporter (2008-2009) and as a political observer on regional issues of Radiolur news program of Public Radio of Armenia (2004-2008).

Since 2009 he has been an analyst at the independent Civilitas Foundation. Hakobyan is the coordinator of the ANI Armenian Research Center and a reporter with the CivilNet online.

In 2005 he received Yerevan Press Club’s Annual Award for the coverage of regional issues in Azg daily. In 2009, YPC  awarded him for his first book “Karabakh Diary; Green and Black”.

Hakobyan is a recipient (2014) of Haigashen Ouzounian Literary Award for his second book “Armenians and Turks”.

He is the 2016 winner of “The Time for Freedom of Press” – for consistent and comprehensive coverage of Karabagh conflict.
