Hakobyan’s “Armenians and Turks” & “Karabakh Diary” in Beirut

Armenian veteran reporter and author Tatul Hakobyan presented his books to the local Arab and Armenian audience in Beirut, Lebanon capital. The event took place at Haigazian University, Beirut’s Hamra district with participation of Armenian religious leaders, political party representatives, diplomats and Lebanese parliament members and readers.

Nora Arissian from Damascus who is the Arabic translator of Hakobyan’s “Karabakh Diary; Black and Green”, said that if someone wants to know and understand what happened in Karabakh before 1991-1994 deadly war, during the war and after, must read Hakobyan’s book.

Hakobyan, who heads newly established ANI Armenian Research Centre, extended his thanks to the   translator, and to Sarkis Budakian, sponsor of the translation and publishing.

Presenting his second book, “Armenians and Turks” in English, Hakobyan said that the volume covers almost the whole spectrum of Armenian-Turkish relations, including the different attitudes of Diasporan circles and masses to the past, present, and future relations with the Turks.

Hakobyan extended his thanks to his English translators, and to the editor, Nareg Seferian.

First published in 2008, Hakobyan’s first book – “Karabakh Diary Green and Black”, has three editions in Eastern Armenian and was translated into Western Armenian, Russian, English, Arabic and Turkish.

Hakobyan’s second book – “Armenians and Turks” is available in Eastern Armenian, Western Armenian and English.

Hakobyan said that he is currently working on a new book about Armenia’s domestic and foreign policy from the beginnings of its journey towards independence in 1988 to the current day.
